Carers of East Lothian has compiled an Information Pack for Carers which comprises a series of fact sheets giving details of issues which may affect you.

 

These fact sheets are available individually so if any of the following topics is of particular interest to you, please click the link and you will be able to print the sheet you want.

We currently have the following Fact Sheets:

 1 Who's Who and what they do.

 

This gives you detailed information about all the various professionals and services which you may come across in your role of carer.  It describes the different roles and responsibilities of medical, social work, community care and other workers and also how to go about getting in touch with them.

For details of what Community Care services are on offer for you and for the person you care for, this is a very useful fact sheet.  It describes the process involved in getting community care services and who is responsible for what aspect of care.

3.      Welfare Benefits

 

As a carer, you are quite likely to be worse off than before.  It’s important to know what you may be entitled to and this fact sheet goes through the various benefits available to carers and those for whom they care.  Again, this goes into details and examines the pros and cons of certain benefits, helping you choose the right ones for you.
