Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of unpaid carers, the challenges they face and the contribution they make to society. This year it runs from Monday 7th June to Sunday 13th June 2020. The theme for 2021 is “making caring visible AND valued”.
This year we are reaching out to carers online and in person in a series of events, from an uplifting singing session on Zoom to a walk with a countryside ranger in the Pencaitland/Ormiston area. This is our small way of saying a big thank you to unpaid carers for all the things you do. Please download our Programme of Events for more details.
We also thought it would be fun to share on Facebook some of the songs that have kept staff and carers going through the last year. The inspiration for this series of posts came from team members Emma Stewart and Mags Bryan.
To kick off the playlist, Carer Support Worker Mags Bryan nominated The Keep Going On song by the Bengsons:
Please tell us the songs that you have been listening to and taking encouragement from during the pandemic by:
- Commenting on our Facebook posts
- Emailing us at centre@coel.org.uk
We look forward to hearing from you!
