1 Year of ‘Time For Me’

In October 2022, we launched our ‘Time For Me’ carer grants scheme, enabling unpaid carers to take a much-needed break from caring. In its first year the programme has supported 296 carers to take a break.

These grants are made possible thanks to funding from Scottish Government (via Shared Care Scotland) and East Lothian Health & Social Care Partnership.

Kirtsy’s Time For Me grant funded a two night break in a hydro hotel with her youngest son. Kirsty said that she wanted to have “time to relax, breathe, read a book and sleep.” After the break, Kirsty commented: “The break was wonderful and we both felt totally relaxed and enjoyed the precious time together. A break away from the norm, my son loves being away from home and a change of scenery. It was amazing and we spent some magical time together.”
