Our next legal advice clinic for carers with Solicitors for Older People in Scotland (SOPS) will take place on Thursday 29th July from 1:30 pm. The solicitor covering the clinic is Greg Douglas.
The clinic is open to ALL carers, regardless of age, including parent carers.
The clinic offers carers 30-minute telephone appointments for free legal advice on the following issues:
- Guardianship (Adults with Incapacity)
- Advanced Directives
- Wills & Trusts

Greg Douglas is an Associate with Caesar & Howie, Solicitors and Estate Agents who are founder members of SOPS. A Coatbridge native and a graduate of the University of Stirling, Greg is based in the firm’s civil court department.
He regularly negotiates and conducts family law and guardianship cases. Greg has a background of working with Adult’s with Disabilities and was part of the ‘Shine Consortium’ – a group which promoted and advised on the national strategy for the promotion of the Self Directed Support Act, which aims to promote choice and freedom for disabled individuals receiving care. He also advises clients on forward planning documents such as Wills, Power of Attorney and Advance Directives.
Away from work, Greg plays football and squash, and is a big boxing fan. He also has a keen interest in current affairs and politics.
