Advice, Information and Support service for unpaid carers in East Lothian

East Lothian Council (ELC) have a duty, under the Carers Act (Scotland) 2016, to provide an advice, information and support service for unpaid carers caring for people in East Lothian. Earlier this year, ELC invited potential providers to bid through a tendering process to deliver this service for carers. Carers of East Lothian have been the providers of this service. The most recent contract started in 2021 and was for a maximum of four years. We are absolutely delighted to announce that CoEL have been awarded the contract to deliver this work locally.

We are very much looking forward to developing our new strategy so that we can continue to provide excellent support for unpaid carers in East Lothian. We will be sharing details of how carers and other stakeholders can get involved in shaping the future of the service soon.

We would like to express our enormous gratitude to everyone who has been involved in this process and helped us to evidence the impact of our work to date.

Here is a picture of (most of) the team who are thrilled to continue their incredible work with carers in East Lothian.
