We have received a one-off grant from the Scottish Government, administered via Shared Care Scotland, to support unpaid carers who are experiencing financial hardship due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19 and the pressures of their caring role. This has enabled us to launch a new, time-limited Carer Recovery Fund (March and April 2022).
The fund is designed to help carers take practical steps to improve their caring situation. We can make awards of up to £500 per caring situation/ household to cover expenses such as:
- Sitter services or replacement care, including childcare, especially where this will enable carers to access services or attend appointments for themselves
- Costs of setting up Power of Attorney
- Purchase of specialist equipment or household equipment, including white goods
- Support to cope with their caring role, including access to complementary therapies and leisure opportunities
- Food or fuel costs
Please apply as soon as possible as timescales are very tight.
The final deadline for applications is Monday 11th April 2022.
