The National Carer Organisations (NCOs) have developed a Carers Manifesto for the upcoming Scottish elections setting out the top priorities carers want to see delivered by the next Scottish Government. You can download a copy of the Carers Manifesto here.
The NCOs want all candidates standing for election to know that supporting unpaid carers matters to voters #CarersVotesCount. They are asking you to share a copy of the Carers Manifesto with your local candidates using the web-based application contact your constituency candidates.
The NCOs and Oxfam Scotland are also hosting an online carers hustings event on Thursday 8th April 2021, 1:30 to 3:00 pm. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions of candidates on the issues that matter to you as a carer. You can register for the national carers hustings event here.
In addition, Carers of East Lothian (CoEL) are hoping to hold a local carers hustings event with candidates standing for election in East Lothian. Further details of this local event will be announced shortly.
If you are carer who is struggling please get in touch with us on 0131 665 0135 or email centre@coel.org.uk for support. Please reach out for help if you need it.
