On Thursday 25th September, CoEL’s Carers Panel will be holding an open session for anyone who is interested in learning more about what the panel involves and who might be interested in joining.
Our Carers’ Panel is a group of carers and former carers who meet on a monthly basis to discuss potential solutions to common problems, comment on service providers proposals and lobby for changes to improve the lives of carers and the people they care for. The aim of the group is to strengthen the collective voice of carers in East Lothian.
The session will be held 10 – 11:30 in the Traprain Room at East Lothian Community Hospital. There will be a chance to meet with our new Chief Executive Officer, Jenny White during this session. Coffee and croissants will be served.
Meetings are normally hybrid, so that members can attend in person (normally at East Lothian Community Hospital), or online (via teams). However, this particular meeting will be held exclusively in person.
If you are interested in joining the panel, but the time of the session prohibits you from attending, please let Gemma (who facilitates the panel) know, as we will be asking for feedback about the best time to hold these meetings in the future. It is really important to us that the panel includes carers with a variety of experiences, so that these experiences can inform the projects that the group is involved with.
