Group Support for Parent Carers

Earlier this year, we consulted with parent carers to help us to review the group support that we were offering. We received a fantastic response that has really helped to inform our redevelopment of the group support. Parent carers told us that they’d like to see us offering a combination of in person and online sessions, a variety of learning based sessions, self-care, opportunities to connect with other parent carers and opportunities to learn new skills.

We have taken all of the feedback on board and we have designed a programme of group support that will be delivered over the next year. Learning themes include children’s mental health, strategies for managing challenging behaviour, self harm, neurodiversity and crisis handling. Opportunities to connect with others include crafts, pampering and family baking sessions. For an outline of the sessions we will be offering, please see the poster below:
