We are delighted that Venturing Out have been successful in their funding bid to take the East Lothian Carers’ Adventure Wellbeing Group into its 2nd year! Hear from them below about how to get involved. This year the project has expanded to support people who are caring for children as well as adults, so if you weren’t able to participate because of that last year, look no further.
“Are you an Unpaid Adult Carer living in East Lothian? Would you like a break from caring and to meet some likeminded carers? Do you like spending time being active and outdoors?
Look no further than the East Lothian Carers’ Adventure Wellbeing Group! If you are an Unpaid Adult Carer living in East Lothian, you are eligible to join this group and take part in a year long programme of free adventurous outdoor activities. The activities are pitched at varying levels and offer a chance to have a break from caring, focus on your mental & physical health and wellbeing and meet other carers.
“What has been really lovely is the people I have met. They have all been so supportive and kind. It’s been nice to hang out with people who you can have an unspoken understanding with, and although we did speak about our caring responsibilities, it wasn’t the main focus of our conversations.”
“It’s great meeting people in similar positions, experiencing new things to make you appreciate life and the outdoors, and getting time away from caring and exercising. They are run so well and you feel in very safe hands.”
It is a very simple sign up process. Fill in this quick form: https://docs.google.com/…/1FAIpQLSds5JOqnOH…/viewform…
Once you have filled it in you will receive a welcome email and you can sign up to activities.
