Carers Week 2026 – Programme of Events

Carers Week is running from 8th – 14th June. The theme of the national campaign in 2026 is Building Carer Friendly Communities, highlighting the impact carer friendly communities can have in making a real and lasting difference to the lives of carers everywhere.

Carers of East Lothian will be running a range of events throughout the week to help build carer-friendly communities. These will include opportunities for carers to come together, try new activities, relax, and connect with others in similar situations.

We are running a variety of different activities in different locations across the county to try and support as many carers as possible to join in. Events include wellbeing sessions, creative activities, outdoor activities, intergenerational opportunities and other chances to get together with other carers. We will be collaborating with partners including Milan Senior Welfare Organisation and East Lothian Council Young Carers Service to build connections with carers.

We are also running drop-in information sessions for carers and professionals to learn about local support, alongside an online “Think Carer” session for professionals.

Please see our programme for the week below and contact us on centre@coel.org.uk or 01316650135 to request spaces on any of the sessions.
