East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership (ELHSCP) have produced cards to support carers who are exempt from wearing face coverings to demonstrate their exemption so that they can feel confident going out without one. To request a card, please contact Carers of East Lothian (CoEL) on 0131 665 0135 or at centre@coel.org.uk.
Scottish Government guidance make it clear that certain individuals, including carers, are exempt from the mandatory face covering rule during Phase 3 of the Covid-19 response where wearing one “would cause difficulty, pain or severe distress or anxiety to the wearer or the person in the care of the wearer”.
